Bupa is a global healthcare company, founded in 1947. Today they care for 50 million customers – providing healthcare insurance for 30 million people and serving 20 million people in their clinics, hospitals, and dental centres.
Information security is a top priority for Bupa, given the medical and financial customer information that they are required to hold. Several internal communications campaigns had been run in the past but they didn’t seem to gain traction with employees.
Bupa wanted to try a different approach using a short animation. The objective was to reinforce that it was the responsibility of all employees to vigilant regarding cyber security, and specifically what they needed to do if they received a suspected phishing email (the most common form of cyber attack).
To create a 90 second animation using bespoke illustration in the Bupa style, but with some artistic licence to bring the subject to life, that showed a real life scenario and the impact that an individual employee could have in the fight against phishing emails.
